Cancer, Kidney Diseases or Liver Cirrhosis Treatment - Social Security Programme
Let me ask you a question. If you or any member of your family is diagnosed with cancer, Kidney Diseases or Liver Cirrhosis the cost of treatment, whether in India or abroad, can range from ₹10 to ₹50 lakhs. Do you have sufficient savings or adequate insurance to cover this expense? If your answer is “yes,” then this “Social Security Scheme” is not for you. However, if your answer is “NO” then you need to choose to be a part of this plan.
Empowering Middle-Class Families in Times of Crisis
Cancer, Kidney Failure, and Liver Cirrhosis treatments can be emotionally challenging and financially burdensome, particularly for middle-class families. While economically weaker sections may receive government assistance and affluent families can often manage the expenses, middle-income families frequently face immense difficulty arranging funds for critical medical care such as cancer treatment, kidney transplants, and liver transplants, along with the long-term post-treatment care they require.
In many cases, families are compelled to exhaust their savings, sell valuable assets, or take on heavy financial liabilities to ensure their loved ones receive proper treatment. This financial strain adds to the emotional stress already caused by life-threatening illnesses, making timely medical support and financial assistance crucial for affected families.
Up to Rs.100/- Help From Member Group Model
Introducing Our Innovative pre-commitment Financial Assistance Solution.
Exclusive Member-Based Support Without Fixed Regular Expenses
Flashstar Foundation – is a non-profit organization incorporated as a Section 8 public limited company, committed to supporting middle-class families during medical emergencies.
Understanding the financial challenges faced by families in arranging large sums for critical treatments such as cancer care, kidney transplants, and liver transplants, the Foundation has introduced a pioneering Social Security Program designed especially for the middle-income community across India.
Our innovative model is based on a structured pre-commitment financial assistance system, where members contribute a pre-committed amount of up to ₹100 only when financial assistance is required by a fellow member. This unique approach eliminates the burden of fixed regular expenses while ensuring that emergency medical support remains accessible when needed most.
Through collective community participation and social responsibility, the program aims to create a reliable support network that provides timely financial assistance for life-saving medical treatments and related healthcare needs.
Understanding the Foundation of the Social Security Program
Just as a teaspoon of salt can make a single glass of water unpleasantly salty, life’s financial challenges can feel overwhelming when faced alone. However, when the same amount of salt is added to a bucket, a large water tank, or even a lake, its effect becomes barely noticeable.
This simple analogy reflects the power of collective support. A burden that may seem impossible for one family to bear becomes manageable when shared among thousands of people. In the same way, if 10,000 individuals contribute a small amount together, it can create meaningful financial assistance for someone facing a medical emergency.
Our vision is built on this principle of unity and shared responsibility — where small contributions from many people can provide life-changing support to families in need, without creating a heavy financial burden on any single individual.
Understanding the Social Security Scheme
Understanding the Social Security Scheme :-
Social security is a system of protection and support designed to help individuals and families during times of financial or medical hardship. It aims to ensure access to healthcare, financial assistance, and basic economic security when people face unexpected challenges.
Social security schemes introduced by non-governmental organizations and charitable foundations provide timely financial support to members who require assistance for critical medical treatments or other essential needs. These initiatives are built on the principles of community participation, shared responsibility, and mutual support, helping families overcome difficult situations with dignity and confidence.
Understanding the Cancer Treatment and its Financial Impact
Cancer is one of the most serious and rapidly growing health challenges in India, affecting millions of individuals and families every year. Beyond the physical and emotional trauma, cancer treatment places a significant financial burden on patients and their families, especially when the primary earning member is diagnosed with the disease.
There are various forms of cancer, including liver cancer, colon cancer, blood cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and several others. The treatment process is often long and complex, involving regular doctor consultations, diagnostic tests, chemotherapy, surgeries, medications, hospitalization, and continuous pre- and post-treatment care.
The cost of cancer treatment can be extremely high. In many cases, a single life-saving medicine may cost between ₹75,000 and ₹1,00,000, while one chemotherapy session alone can range from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh depending on the type and stage of cancer. Overall treatment expenses can easily rise to ₹10–15 lakh or even more, creating severe financial stress for middle-class families.
In such difficult times, timely financial assistance and community support can play a vital role in helping families access proper medical treatment without compromising their financial stability and future security.
Understanding Kidney Diseases and Kidney Transplant Treatment
Kidney disease is becoming an increasingly serious health concern in India, affecting a significant portion of the population. It is estimated that nearly 1 out of every 10 people suffers from some form of chronic kidney disorder. Every year, thousands of patients progress to kidney failure and require life-saving treatments such as regular dialysis or a kidney transplant.
The treatment process for kidney failure is not only physically and emotionally challenging but also financially demanding. Dialysis requires continuous medical care and repeated hospital visits, while kidney transplantation involves major surgical procedures, hospitalization, lifelong medications, and post-transplant monitoring.
The financial burden of kidney treatment can be overwhelming for middle-class families. A kidney transplant may cost approximately ₹7 lakh or more depending on the hospital and medical condition of the patient. In addition, dialysis sessions can cost between ₹18,000 and ₹20,000 or higher on a recurring basis, making long-term treatment extremely difficult to sustain financially.
In many cases, families are forced to exhaust their savings, borrow money, or sell personal assets to continue treatment. Timely financial assistance and collective community support can therefore play a crucial role in helping patients receive proper medical care and improve their chances of recovery and survival.
Understanding Liver Cirrhosis and Liver Transplant Treatment
Liver cirrhosis is a serious and life-threatening medical condition that is increasingly affecting people across India. The growing incidence of liver disease is largely linked to excessive alcohol consumption, obesity-related disorders, fatty liver disease, viral infections, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Every year, a large number of individuals are diagnosed with advanced liver complications that require urgent medical attention.
Liver cirrhosis gradually damages the liver and affects its ability to perform essential functions necessary for survival. In severe cases, a liver transplant becomes the only effective treatment option to save the patient’s life and restore long-term health.
The financial burden associated with liver transplant treatment is extremely high. Expenses generally include diagnostic tests, specialist consultations, hospitalization, surgery, intensive care, medications, and long-term post-transplant care. The overall treatment cost can range from approximately ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh or even more depending on the medical condition and hospital facilities.
For many middle-class families, arranging such a large amount within a short period becomes a major challenge. In these difficult circumstances, timely financial assistance and collective social support can provide critical relief and help patients access life-saving treatment without facing devastating financial hardship.
What is Concept of Cancer/Kidney/Liver Treatment Programme?
The cost of treatment for critical illnesses such as cancer, kidney failure, and liver disease can range from approximately ₹10 lakh to ₹50 lakh or even more. Families with substantial savings or comprehensive insurance coverage may be able to manage these expenses. However, for many middle-class families, arranging such a large amount within a short period becomes a major financial challenge.
Medical emergencies often force families to borrow money, sell valuable assets, or face severe financial hardship while trying to save the life of a loved one. To reduce this burden and create a system of mutual support, the Foundation has introduced an innovative community-based financial assistance programme.
How the Programme Works
The concept is simple yet powerful. A large group of members — consisting of friends, relatives, neighbours, and socially responsible individuals — voluntarily come together under a common understanding. If any member of the group is diagnosed with a serious illness such as cancer, kidney failure, or liver disease requiring major treatment or transplant, every other member contributes a small financial amount of up to ₹100 only.
When thousands of people contribute a small amount collectively, it becomes possible to arrange substantial financial assistance for the affected member without placing a heavy burden on any single individual.
For example:
- If a treatment requires ₹50 lakh,
- And the group consists of 50,000 members,
- Then each member may contribute only up to ₹100 towards the treatment support.
A Community-Driven Support System
This programme is based on the principle of collective responsibility and mutual support:
- If one member faces a medical crisis, the community stands together to support them.
- If another member requires assistance in the future, the same support is extended equally to them.
- Every member is both a contributor and a beneficiary of the programme.
No Fixed Regular Payments
Unlike traditional insurance policies that require yearly premium payments regardless of claims, this programme does not impose fixed recurring expenses. Members are required to contribute only when genuine medical assistance is needed by another group member and as per the programme guidelines.
This innovative model creates a sustainable and affordable social security network where small contributions from many individuals can provide life-changing financial support to families facing critical medical emergencies.
How the Programme Works
Commitment to Contribute
Every member who joins the programme voluntarily agrees to contribute a small amount of up to ₹100 whenever a fellow group member is diagnosed with a serious medical condition such as cancer, kidney failure, or liver disease requiring major treatment or transplant.
This contribution amount is intentionally kept affordable so that middle-class families can participate comfortably, while the collective contributions of thousands of members create a strong financial support system for those facing medical emergencies.
A Strong Community Support Network
By becoming part of the programme, members join a supportive community of up to 50,000 individuals united by the principle of mutual assistance and social responsibility.
If any member requires urgent financial assistance for cancer treatment, kidney transplant, liver transplant, or other approved critical medical care, the pooled contributions from group members are mobilized through the Foundation’s structured contribution initiative to provide timely financial support.
The financial assistance is intended to cover actual medical treatment expenses and may extend up to a maximum limit of ₹50,00,000 per eligible case, calculated based on the total number of contributing group members and programme guidelines.
Comprehensive Medical Financial Assistance
The programme aims to support essential treatment-related expenses associated with critical illnesses, including:
- Hospitalization and surgical expenses
- Medicines and chemotherapy costs
- Diagnostic and laboratory testing charges
- Pre- and post-treatment medical care
- Organ transplant-related expenses
- Travel expenses for specialized treatment within India or abroad, wherever applicable
Our objective is to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent patients from accessing quality medical treatment and life-saving healthcare services.
Transparent, Structured, and Reliable System
Unlike conventional crowdfunding platforms where contributors may not always have clarity regarding fund utilization, our Social Security Programme operates through a transparent and structured community-based contribution model.
Each member contributes an equal and predetermined amount only when genuine medical assistance is required. The entire process is managed systematically to ensure accountability, transparency, and timely support for eligible beneficiaries.
This innovative approach creates a reliable social protection network where thousands of individuals collectively help one another during difficult medical situations with dignity, trust, and shared responsibility.
